Designing Open Democracy - Got a new web forum up and going now

Just got this built over the weekend, may need some ironing out but hopefully its ready. Let me know if anything needs fixing.

By the way, remember to stick to meta political discussion. This would avoid different parties/organisations from stepping on each other’s toe.

Here is an example post to get you started

Also you can ask for a pirate badge if you want your avatar to have a pirate logo next to it

Oh and quick tip. To make your website show a link preview in discourse, make sure you include these metadata to the <head> section of your site. It will then show up when people use your link, like me.

e.g.

  <meta property="og:title" content="Designing Open Democracy">
  <meta property="og:type" content="website">
  <meta property="og:url" content="http://designingopendemocracy.com">
  <meta property="og:description" content="This is a group for any tech professionals or political experts (or ordinary citizens) interested in discussing in a detailed way the potential opportunities for reforming existing democratic institutions; from local organisations to national governments around the world through technology or other practices. Our aim is to improve democracy: we think this can best be done by providing a forum for discussing democracy proposals, ideas, and to foster collaboration between people who would like to participate in democracy reform.">

This will be especially important when you make campaign websites that would be shared by links. Especially if shared in facebook or twitter etc…
