Icelandic pirates would come first in an election held now. The election is years off yet but imagine a place where whistle-blowers from all around the world could find sanctuary, where any website could put itself out of reach of the copyright mincing machine and where radical new economic and social ideas could be tried. Iceland is a small country but it could change the world.

As someone to whom Iceland was a possible point of emigration if Australia goes too far down America’s road, I was very happy to hear this news myself.
And encouragement that this isn’t a futile tilt at the windmills of Canberra.
