SA Election: Possibility of running as a named independent?

The SA Upper House allows independent groups to give themselves three descriptive words for their group on the ballot paper, reduced from five due to recent reforms.

This might give PPAU the opportunity of running a candidate under the Pirates Australia banner even if the party isn’t registered in SA for one reason or another.

Since I’m not based in SA I might not be the best person to take this on, but I can outline a quick policy in a pad over this with some pros and cons if anyone would be interested.

Putting some brainstorming here. Crux of it though it’s going to cost $3000 per candidate and I’m not sure if the party will be able to afford that, especially if Xenophon is going to be eating up a fair chunk of the 3rd party vote.
