Tl;dr it’s all IP. Monsanto are doing to food what is happened to music and technology, and the results are disastrous. IIUC Pirates are against GM foods precisely for this reason, not some “frankenstein foods” nonsense.
Most problems with GMO would be fixed if patents on biology were gone. That’s all we ask really.
The other problem (from the article) appears to be that GM foods are a lot like anti-virus software. Ecologically it’s a pretty dumb idea: They’re always going to be behind the curve, and they’re going to come with a lot of negatives.
