Hi Peter, interesting article and covers a broad variety of justifications for UBI. Pirates straddle the line between libertarian and left in a very unique political niche. If you haven’t read the PPAU UBI policy (or anyone else reading this) we have it here Platform - Pirate Party Australia Wiki
Thanks for that Miles. Yes I’ve seen this platform before and find it largely agreeable. I also come from a left-libertarian perspective. I like things to be as free as possible, but at the same time believe in having to some extent a levelled playing field so that everyone has opportunity to take advantage of freedom. Hence my strong support for things like Medicare, universal education and UBI.

This is so basic, in the sense, it makes perfect sense!
We wouldn’t have economic refugees if all countries had a UBI!
