Pirate Party Promotional Pictures - Get Creative

A’hoy,

This thread is for the creation and discussion of promotional pictures for the Pirate Party. I’m particularly focused on images for social media (I’m the PPAU socmed officer). But I encourage you to consider, design and submit any image ideas here. For some ideas check out this thread … Pirate Party memes

The idea is to create images that convey PPAU principles and encourage further engagement. Images are part of the PPAU arsenal and it’s time to update and re-supply.

Guidelines.

A few hints …

  • Pick a topic that interests you from here … https://pirateparty.org.au/wiki/Platform
  • Find a Public Domain picture. There are lots and lots out there. Or take your own picture.
  • Don’t use more than 10 words. Few people will read more on socmed. I don’t.
  • Expect feedback.
  • I use a 800*400 pixel canvas. Also consider A3/A4 paper size black and white for private printing.
  • Leave some room for an “Authorisation Line”.
  • Join irc #ppau-socmed

Share #LikeaPirate. I think that’s all.

Have at it.

I was delightfully surprised to discover that the URL at the bottom actually redirects to an election PR!

Edit: Please come up with more activities for Pete the Pirate!

Well maybe not your dog but mine is affiliated with PPAU  . Feel free to make a meme out of him.

The continued adventures of Pete the Pirate!

(Edit 2016-11-29: received auth for the above in IRC)

The bottom section is a bit clumsy. What I think it calls for is the signet and then the URL, like so:

Note that this requires us to have functioning, one-or-two-word URLs; this happens… some of the time.

Loving the work @alexjago

I approve the first one.

The second one just needs a URL pointing at something. Perhaps the policy?

We could start laying out policies nicely with pics, so such URLs can aim at something specific.

Will put it on the agenda for the next Bureau meeting.

This a thousand times this. Just redirecting to the relevant section in the wiki is probably enough, then it’s all in one place. If we could add links to each section in the wiki which go “see all press releases relevant to this topic”, that’d be pretty much perfect.

Incidentally, the second one’s URL does go somewhere – it (eventually) resolves to /category/culture, which is OK, but it’d be better to jump to the policy rather than a bunch of PRs.
